Self-reading allows you to have actual consumption on your bill, instead of estimated consumption, as long as it is sent correctly and during the periods reported on the last bill received.

How can I report self-reading?

You can report your meter self-reading free of charge:

  • at the toll-free number listed on your bill (an operator answers)
  • in the Online Help Desk reserved area
  • from the ABweb app
  • by sending a text message to 347.227.0699 writing: CODICESERVICE#READ followed by the number on the meter 
     

What numbers do I need to provide for self-reading?

For direct-reading meters you must send only the black numbers

For clock meters you must provide the black clock numbers starting with the thousands (X1000), then the hundreds (X100), tens (X10) and finally the units.
